Monday Night Football presents the FanDuel/DFS community with a clash of NFC East teams! Let’s evaluate this game from a fantasy football perspective!

Before I discuss my Fanduel player selections for Sunday night’s game let’s take a look at the key DFS injuries and briefly review that rules for the FanDuel single game contest.

DFS Injuries

New York Giants: OUT: Daniel Jones QB, Rhett Ellison TE, Evan Engram TE.

Philadelphia Eagles: QUESTIONABLE: Nelson Agholor WR, Jordan Howard RB.

Now let’s briefly discuss the rules for the FanDuel single game contest. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The FanDuel MVP accumulates 1.5 times the standard FanDuel points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important that you identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the FanDuel single game contest, I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Let’s now transition to my player selections for Monday night’s single game contest!

MVP-Zach Ertz $13,500

The Eagles offense appears to be highly focused on throwing the football to the tight end position on a consistent basis in 2019. I think that is due to a variety of factors. I won’t bother you with the specific factors here. However, I will say this, if the Eagles feel the need to throw the football to the tight end position consistently than I am going to roll with Zach Ertz as my MVP in Monday night’s game.

How much is Ertz being utilized in the Eagles offense? Well, let’s take a look at Zach’s last four football games from a statistical perspective. In his last four games, Ertz has been targeted by Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz an unbelievable 42 times! In that same four game span, Ertz caught 33 balls, compiled 312 receiving yards, and added two receiving touchdowns.

I also love the fact that Ertz has traditionally shredded the Giants defense. In 2018, the Eagles played the Giants two times in the regular season. In that two game span in 2018, Ertz compiled 14 receptions and two receiving touchdowns.

I should also note that the Giants defense is clearly NOT very good in 2019. More specifically, the Giants pass defense is currently ranked 25th in the NFL.

Flex Plays

Alshon Jeffery $14,000

In my opinion, Jeffery is the only viable talented wide receiver on the Eagles roster. To Carson Wentz’s credit, he clearly knows that he needs to target his best wide receiver if he wants the Eagles to succeed on the football field.

If you need data to support my previous statement I can certainly provide it. Let’s take a quick look at Alshon’s performance in the Eagles week 13 game as a prime example. Carson Wentz targeted Jeffery 16 times in the Eagles week 13 loss to Miami! I fully expect Wentz to continue to target his most talented wide receiver early and often on Monday night.

Eli Manning $13,000

Next up for me in my flex plays is Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Earlier in this article I noted that Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been ruled out of Monday night’s contest due to injury. Well, that opens the door for Eli Manning.

I expect Manning to take full advantage of his opportunity to start on Monday night. Why? Well, the Eagles defense is awful. Last week, the Eagles defense allowed the Miami Dolphins to rack up 37 points. Additionally, the Eagles allowed Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw for 365 yards and three touchdowns. If Fitzpatrick can do that, there is little doubt in my mind that Eli Manning can do so as well.

Sterling Shepard $10,500

My next flex play selection is one of Eli Manning’s wide receivers. After all, if I expect Eli to have a good fantasy game on Monday night he needs to have a wide receiver that will be successful as well!

I think Shepard is the perfect man to fit that narrative. In his last three games, Shepard has been targeted by Giants quarterback Daniel Jones 24 times. I think that Shepard will have every opportunity to perform at a high level from a fantasy perspective on Monday night versus a pathetic Eagles secondary.

Dallas Goedert $9,000

I mentioned earlier in this article that the Eagles love to target the tight end position. So, with my last flex play I am rolling with Philadelphia tight end Dallas Goedert. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has targeted Goedert often in 2019. Let’s just look at Goedert’s last two games to provide some clarity to that statement. In the Eagles last two games, Goedert has been targeted 15 times. In that same two game span, Goedert compiled 13 receptions and 98 receiving yards.

It has to be said that I absolutely love Goedert’s low Fanduel price of only $9,000. I think he presents outstanding upside from a fantasy perspective.

As always, good luck!
