Wondering when you can catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on your favorite streaming platform or buy it on DVD? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres in theaters on Dec. 20, but it is never too early to try and find out how you will be able to watch Episode 9 in your own home!

Unfortunately, one of the biggest changes since the last film is that Netflix lost all of its Star Wars movies and series to Disney+. For a while, Netflix was the home of all new Star Wars content once it had spent time in theaters and on the shelf, including the movies and even animated series like Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In fact, The Clone Wars had a season premiere exclusively on Netflix.

However, this is no longer the case. All of the Star Wars movies have made their way to Disney+, and that includes the animated series. All future Star Wars content made available for streaming, including the current live-action series The Mandalorian, the future Ewan McGregor-led Obi-Wan Kenobi series and The Rise of Skywalker will stream exclusively on Disney+.

But when can you expect Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to be available to stream on Disney Plus?

While the official date has yet to be announced, we can use The Last Jedi for reference. The movie was released in December 2017, and it hit Netflix late June 2018. At that rate, we could possibly see The Rise of Skywalker in on Disney+ in June of 2020.

What about if you would rather have a physical copy of Episode 9?

DVDs and Blu-rays usually are released around the same time but can often be slightly longer. The expected date for The Rise of Skywalker DVD is March 2020.

That seems like a long way off, but it’s only a few months, and you can always go see The Rise of Skywalker multiple times in the theater before then!
