4. 49ers -11

The NFL’s best team right now is the San Francisco 49ers, and they have been dominant for most of the season. The 49ers put together their most impressive work in New Orleans on Sunday, holding off the Saints in the Superdome to reclaim the top spot in the NFC.

The offense carried the mail for the 49ers in that game, with Jimmy Garoppolo and company finding a way to outgun Drew Brees and the Saints in their own building. The heart of the team was shown on the big 4th and 2 play at the end of the game, with George Kittle rambling 39 yards while having his face mask grabbed.

The end result was a 54 yard pickup that saw the 49ers in position to kick the game winning field goal, and with Seattle losing later that day the 49ers are back in first place in the division. San Francisco is back home after a tough two game trip, and they will look to absolutely bury a scuffling Atlanta Falcons’ team this weekend.

The Falcons have won three of their last five games, but two of those wins came against the free-falling Panthers, who have already fired their head coach. Atlanta’s playoff hopes are dead and Dan Quinn is a dead coach walking, so its hard to see the Falcons being motivated to put up a good effort flying across the country in Week 15.

Eleven points is a lot to lay, but the 49ers are the far superior team, are at home, and need the game far more than Atlanta does. Expect a rout as the Falcons’ defense is one of the worst in football, so lay the points with the 49ers here.
