Todd Gurley has really come on in recent weeks in fantasy football. What do we think about his Week 15 matchup on the road vs. the Dallas Cowboys?

The Los Angeles Rams are one of a few teams that are still in the mix for a playoff spot in the NFC entering the final three weeks of the season. No, the Rams aren’t in the position to get in, but they might be able to if they win out. That all starts with how they play on the road vs. the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. How do we think Todd Gurley will play in this game?

The Fantasy Footballers believe that Gurley has found his special sauce again as a power back for Sean McVay’s Rams. Yes, Gurley will have to combat arthritic knees for the rest of his life, but he has gotten back to being a reliable RB1 option in recent weeks when it comes to fantasy football.

The idea behind this is that the Rams offense is getting back to its roots under McVay. When the Rams are playing their best football, they are using the power running game to open up the pass. This means the Rams offense starts and ends with Gurley getting a bunch touches. Look for him to go off against the Cowboys on Sunday.

Right now, the Rams are trending up, while the Cowboys are trending down. Though the Rams may not catch the Minnesota Vikings for the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoff picture, the Cowboys could absolutely fumble away the NFC East lead if they continue to play this poorly, allowing the rival Philadelphia Eagles to swoop in and take their division crown.

As for Gurley, you may need to be aware of the occasional vulture, red-zone touch by fellow Rams running back Malcolm Brown. However, Gurley has been a great playmaker inside of the 20 throughout his five-year NFL career out of Georgia. Expect Gurley to score at least one touchdown in this game, possibly two if the Rams really get cooking on offense.

At the end of the day, the Rams will win the coordinator matchup between the savvy veteran defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and the young up-and-comer offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. The Cowboys will have a lot of three-and-outs and their defense will tire in the second half from never getting off the field. Gurley and the Rams’ ground game will take advantage of it.
