Tigers . McKinnley Jackson. 20. player. 817. . DT

  • High School: George County (Lucedale, MS)
  • Composite Ranking: No. 113, No. 10 DT

He might incredibly stocky and carry a wide frame, but 6-foot-2 and 330-pound McKinnley Jackson is going to be a fixture in the middle of a defensive line. His incredible strength and ability to gain leverage due to his short stature should allow him to find his way into a rotation early in his college football career.

He has plenty of offers that are from the SEC and his decision is still very much up in the air as well. Jackson won’t be announcing his decision until the actual National Signing Day in February, which means the chase for him goes on.

Jackson won’t be announcing next week and that means there’s plenty of time to still follow the tea leaves for a couple more months. Staying local and going to Ole Miss would be a nice land for new head coach Lane Kiffin.

However, there is also the allure of Nick Saban and Alabama along with playing for Ed Orgeron and LSU. Really it’s a take a guess right now a couple of months out, so let’s go with the school with a chance to win the National Championship.

Prediction: LSU

Volunteers . Tyler Baron. 19. player. 839. . SDE

  • High School: Knoxville Catholic (Knoxville, TN)
  • Composite Ranking: No. 111, No. 5 SDE

The Tennessee Volunteers’ season started out looking like it could potentially be a disaster, but they finished decent enough at 7-5 to earn a bowl invite and to take a little heat off head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

A good recruiting class could go a long way in Knoxville, which Pruitt certainly could use as well, as he may not be able to afford another mediocre season. One top uncommitted recruit that is available, comes from Tennessee’s backyard.

Knoxville Catholic’s Tyler Baron is one of the top defensive end recruits in the nation and he appears set on staying on home to play for the Volunteers.

He possesses good speed for his 6-foot-5 and 250-pound frame. He should be able to continue to pack on size and strength as he looks to be a jack of all trades in both the run game and rushing the passer.

He’s going to make his announcement on early National Signing Day and his last visit before appears to be with the Volunteers. This seems like an easy prediction.

Prediction: Tennessee
