NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs and duds December 15
Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay a way from on December 15 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.
Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:
6 p.m. ET: LA Lakers at Atlanta, Philadelphia at Brooklyn
8 p.m. ET: New York at Denver
8:30 p.m. ET: Sacramento at Golden State
How this works:
Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.
Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.
Studs
Anthony Davis (at ATL – $10,600 on DK; $11,300 on FD): If LeBron James is out, that’s even better for Davis’ value as he becomes the lead option for the Lakers. Sometimes that means more attention, and while that’s still the case, the Hawks aren’t the team who will be able to lock him down even with the extra attention. If LeBron ends up playing, he’s the better option simply because he’s at a slightly lower salary. Both players should be in for a big night given the matchup.
Joel Embiid (at BKN – $9,900 on DK; $10,700 on FD): It’s heavy at the top as the Lakers and Sixers have great matchups. The Nets are weak against the position and they are on a back to back. Embiid should be in for an easy double-double given the matchup and expect a high scoring output from him in this one as he dominates the paint.
Buddy Hield (at GS – $8,400 on DK; $7,800 on FD): You can rarely go wrong with a top scorer like Hield against the Warriors defense. He’s been putting up great numbers as of late, going over value in just about every contest since Thanksgiving. The Warriors definitely won’t be the team to slow him down. He’s an easy take on Sunday.
Will Barton (vs NY – $7,100 on DK; $6,600 on FD): It’s a back to back for the Nuggets but they remain at home and they are up against the Knicks, so does it really count? Barely. Barton has strung together a nice run of games and he should have no issue getting his number in this one. Jokic did some heavy lifting on Saturday. Given how Jokic has played this season, expect him to fall back a bit while the guards begin to take over.
