Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay a way from on December 16 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: Washington at Detroit
7:30 p.m. ET: Cleveland at Toronto
8 p.m. ET: San Antonio at Houston, Miami at Memphis, Dallas at Milwaukee, Chicago at Oklahoma City
9 p.m. ET: Portland at Phoenix

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Kristaps Porzingis (at MIL – $7,800 on DK; $8,800 on FD): It’s a tough matchup for the Mavericks, especially because they are going to be without Luka Doncic. But the loss of Luka is going to open up opportunities for other players and Porzingis is now the best player on the court for the Mavericks. We know what he’s capable of and he’ll have a big opportunity to step up in this one. It’s a small risk because the Mavericks could get truck and KP locked up. But it’s worth taking.

Pascal Siakam (vs CLE – $8,600 on DK; $8,600 on FD): It’s an easy matchup for Siakam as he goes up against the Cavaliers. The Raptors have a lot of players who are at good salaries including Lowry and VanVleet. I like Siakam the most on Monday but you can’t really go wrong with anyone on the Raptors given the matchup.

Bam Adebayo (at MEM – $8,200 on DK; $9,300 on FD): Adebayo has been a monster in recent games and every Miami game is going to overtime, which means Adebayo gets the extra five minutes. Maybe this won’t go to OT, but the Grizzlies aren’t great against the position and Adebayo always have double-double and triple-double potential. I like him to be the best player on Miami in this one.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (vs DAL – $11,100 on DK; $12,100 on FD): The concern is a lack of minutes because Giannis hasn’t needed any time to put up big numbers. And no Luka means this game might not be as competitive as you’d like it to be. But even in limited minutes, Giannis is going to be around 50 fantasy points and it’s tough to pass up on that guarantee. If you don’t get him, get Middleton.

Bradley Beal (at DET – $9,400 on DK; $10,500 on FD): Beal has been a bit inconsistent in recent outings but he’s coming off a strong game against Memphis and the Pistons are a great matchup. This should be a game where Beal shines in the Washington offense as these two teams trade bucks given their usual defensive tendencies.
