DraftKings college football picks December 20: Let’s go bowling

DraftKings college football running back picks December 20
Top Tier:
Jaret Patterson had one of the best games by any running back ever against Bowling Green to end the season in style. Patterson went for 298 yards on 26 carries and scored six touchdowns. Charlotte is going to provide more resistance, but not much. The 49ers are allowing 190.8 rushing yards per game. Patterson looks to be the guy to build around.
Benny LeMay has at least 100 rushing yards in three straight and four of the last give games he’s played. The issue here is that Buffalo has one of the better rush defenses in the country. I like the way LeMay runs, but with so many other good back available, I can see using someone else due to Buffalo’s strong run defense.
Middle Tier:
Even though Patterson had a game for the ages against Bowling Green, Kevin Marks still went for over 100 yards and a score himself. However, 70 of those yards were on one run. The overall stats were good for Marks again, but that’s a bit concerning. That said, Marks has at least 15 carries in every game since week one has has double digit DraftKings points in every game since week 2. I prefer to run Marks with Patterson, but he’s still a decent standalone option.
Kent has been gouged on the ground, allowing 249.3 rushing yards per game. Gerold Bright was one of three players cited for marijuana possession this week. So far, it sounds like the players aren’t facing any disciplinary action, so I definitely want Bright here. If Bright is held out, I’m willing to use Jaylen Warren, though he has been far less effective with his touches.
Bargain Shoppers:
Utah State’s run defense is almost equally bad. They have allowed 197.8 rushing yards per game. Kent is not a strong running team. You could argue that Crum, the quarterback, is their best running back. That said, Matthews did pick up his production with Jo-El Shaw out of the picture. Xavier Williams has just about split the carries, and seems to have shown a little more wiggle. For the price, I would save the $800 and use Williams.
