Lionel Messi has a team-best 12 goals. While Barcelona have the best goal differential in La Liga, they have been shaky at the back. Valverde’s team has allowed 20 goals and can give other teams extra lives with their defensive mistakes.
Alaves have two wins in their last eight games, causing the club to drop closer to the relegation zone. The Babazorros are middle of the pack defensively but have struggled to score goals this season. Alaves have scored only 18 goals this season. Joselu and Lucas Perez joined Alaves in the summer from Newcastle and West Ham this season, respectively. The two Spanish strikers have been great since returning to La Liga. Joselu and Perez have combined to score 15 of Alaves’ 18 goals this season.
