Will Dak Prescott’s shoulder injury be an issue in Week 16?
By John Buhler
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has dealt with a shoulder injury of late. Will this impact his play in fantasy vs. the Philadelphia Eagles?
In one of the most important games of the Week 16 slate, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon to largely decide who ends up winning the NFC East. Dallas won the first meeting this year in Arlington, but Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has dealt with a shoulder injury of late. Will this hurt the Cowboys chances on Sunday?
The Fantasy Footballers do believe this could shoulder injury of Prescott could negatively impact the Cowboys in this one. Sure, Prescott could come out and play well, regardless of how his shoulder feels and this may be a non-issue. However, if he is limited in the passing game, that could be bad news for the Cowboys’ chances of winning on Sunday.

The reason a shoulder injury for Prescott could be problematic is that it may make the Cowboys offense one-dimensional. In years past, Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott has been able to get all he wants on the ground against the Eagles and then some. However, it has been difficult to pound the rock against Philadelphia this year. Plus, this has been the worst year of Elliott’s NFL career.
So what The Fantasy Footballers suggest is if you have options to pivot away from Cowboys players, you might want to do that in Week 16 of fantasy. While the Cowboys have had one of the best offenses in football this year, that hasn’t translated to wins for the Dallas football team.
You may want to go down swinging with the Cowboys attack if they got you this far in fantasy. That being said, this is a high-stakes game that the Eagles will absolutely be up for. This game will decide who wins the division and we’ve seen the Eagles play great football at times this season, even if it has been a largely underwhelming year for the Birds this year.
Overall, we’re going to be able to tell very early in the ball game if Prescott will be up to snuff vs. the Eagles with the shoulder injury. If you want to play it safe in fantasy, pivot to other non-Cowboy options. But if you’re willing to roll the dice, dance with the ones that brung ya.
