It doesn’t matter if your shopping late at night, or moving from one city to another in an attempt to get to your families in time, you need to eat.
There is no better place in the world for french fries than McDonald’s. Sorry, Wendy’s, but we all know it’s true. The food may not be the healthiest and the coffee is overpriced but ya know what, as a once-in-a-while treat, McDonald’s ain’t a bad place to grab some food from. Even on Christmas Eve.
Whether you’re attempting to beat the traffic so you can get to your in-law’s before your annoying brother-in-law shows, that way you get the good guest room, or whether you’ve been working 90 hours a week and you’re now just getting free to finish Christmas shopping for your kids, McDonald’s offers a great last-minute opportunity to grab some food while you’re on the go.
That said, many places close early on Christmas Eve and aren’t even open on Christmas, so what about McDonald’s? Well, that’s a tricky question to answer as McDonald’s are franchised chains, meaning they’re owned by smaller groups or individuals who set their own hours. One thing to look for to know if your McDonald’s is open is the time that the stores around it close. If you know stores are closing at 8 P.M. then that’s a safe bet when they’ll close.
However, the best thing to do is simply call your local restaurant and ask them what time they close. Some restaurants close at 10 PM, others are open 24 hours normally. So Christmas Eve will affect all of them differently. If you live near a highway, then you might get lucky and have a McDonald’s open on Christmas Day, but that’s a crab shoot.
Whether it’s open all night or closes at three in the afternoon, remember to treat the people working there with respect, as they’re giving up their time on a day they’d probably rather be at home.
