NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds for December 27
Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on December 27 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.
Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:
7 p.m. ET: Oklahoma City at Charlotte, Philadelphia at Orlando
7:30 p.m. ET: Milwaukee at Atlanta
8 p.m. ET: Indiana at Miami
10:30 p.m. ET: Phoenix at Golden State
How this works:
Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.
Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.
Studs
Giannis Antetokounmpo (at ATL – $11,300 on DK; $11,600 on FD): Giannis had a poor Christmas as he looked mortal for the first time all season. Don’t expect that to happen again. He’s the best player in the league for a reason and the Hawks certainly are not the Sixers playing at their full potential. Expect a monster bounce back for Giannis.
Domantas Sabonis (at MIA – $8,100 on DK; $8,300 on FD): It’s going to be Bam or Sabonis in this matchup. In theory, it could be both players who end up having a big night. But the Heat are slightly worse against the position and Sabonis is at the lower salary, which is why I like him to offer more value than Bam.
John Collins (vs MIL – $7,600 on DK; $8,100 on FD): The Bucks are worse against the position than you might imagine given their overall defense, and Collins is looking refreshed with the time off. He’s at a good salary and with him back in the lineup, it takes some pressure off of Trae Young to have to do everything. Collins will be a big contributor in this game.
D’Angelo Russell (vs PHO – $7,400 on DK; $8,200 on FD): Russell has been consistent in recent games and now he gets a great matchup against the Suns. The Warriors aren’t good but they should be feeling confident after the Christmas win. Russell isn’t going to hurt you and the potential is definitely there.
Devin Booker (at GS – $6,900 on DK; $6,900 on FD): Booker hasn’t been good in recent games and that’s been the reason for the drop in his salary. But we know the potential is there and we know this is a great matchup. This is a great opportunity to buy low on a guy that has some positive signs coming into this game.
