Sunday Night Football presents the DFS/FanDuel community with a clash of NFC West teams that will determine the division champion! Let’s take a look at this game from a fantasy football perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections let’s check on the key DFS injuries for Sunday night’s game and briefly review the rules for the single game contest.

Key DFS Injuries:

San Francisco 49ers: None.

Seattle Seahawks: OUT: Chris Carson, RB: C.J. Prosise, RB: Malik Turner, WR.

Now let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game contest. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your lineup’s MVP. The MVP will accumulate 1.5 times the standard FanDuel points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard FanDuel points value for the single game contest. Having stated that, it is highly important that you select the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the single game contest I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Here are my player picks for Sunday night football!

MVP-George Kittle $14,500

In my opinion, Kittle has been one of the best players (regardless of position) in the NFL this season. As a matter of fact, if the 49ers did not have Kittle’s production on the football field this season, I don’t think they would be playing for a division title on Sunday night.

Let’s dive into Kittle’s recent statistics to clearly illustrate his importance to the San Francisco offense. Over the 49ers last three games, Kittle has been targeted a whopping 33 times! In that same three game span, Kittle has 24 receptions, 280 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns. Additionally, Kittle has averaged an impressive 15.26 FanDuel points a game since his return from injury in week 12.

Now let’s shift our focus to the 49ers opponent on Sunday. The Seahawks have struggled defending the pass this season. More specifically, the Seattle Seahawks are currently the ranked 27th ranked defense in the NFL in average passing yards allowed a game (263.5).

It also should be noted that the Seahawks have had issues defending the tight end position this season as well. An example of how a tight end can succeed in the passing game versus this Seattle team can clearly be seen in week 13. In the Seahawks week 13 game versus the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle allowed Rams tight end Tyler Higbee to obtain seven receptions and 116 receiving yards.

Flex Plays

Jimmy Garoppolo $15,000

I am stacking my FanDuel single game MVP with his quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo. I mentioned earlier in this article that Seattle has not been good defending the pass this season. I think Garoppolo takes full advantage of the vulnerable Seattle secondary on Sunday night.

I should also mention that Jimmy has been playing rather well recently. Over the 49ers last three games, Garoppolo is averaging 18.02 FanDuel points a game.

Raheem Mostert $13,000

The Seattle Seahawks defense is not good defending the run. Through 16 games of the NFL season, Seattle is allowing an average of 117 yards a game. I like Mostert’s chances to do great things from a fantasy standpoint against this suspect Seattle defense on Sunday.

I see a game script where San Francisco gets up by a few scores in this game. If I am accurate in that assessment, I strongly believe that Mostert will get 15-20 offensive touches in this game.

Travis Homer $11,500

I mentioned earlier in this article that Seattle has major injuries at the running back position. The team signed running backs Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin this week. However, I think the running back on the Seattle roster that gets the most work on Sunday will be Travis Homer. The Seahawks are a team that likes to run the ball early and often. Due to that fact, I am going to take a chance on Homer at a FanDuel price of $11,500.

David Moore $5,500

Seattle wide receiver Jaron Brown has been ruled out of Sunday’s game due to injury. Additionally, Seattle recently lost wide receiver Josh Gordon for the year due to suspension. I think Moore definitely sees additional offensive snaps in this game due to the absence of Brown and Gordon. At a FanDuel price of only $5,500 he is worth the risk.
