The 2019 NFL regular season will end on Sunday, so here’s an early look at the top 10 free agents this offseason.

For 26 NFL teams, the 2019 season will end on Sunday when their Week 17 game is complete. Those teams will start preparing in full for the offseason, with no games to play, and others will join them in offseason mode as each playoff round goes.

It’s rare for quarterbacks of any acumen to be anywhere near hitting free agency, but there are a few this year who are set to hit the market barring a deal getting done with their current team. Some looming free agents are set to get a big contract for the first time.

Here’s an early look at the top 10 NFL free agents for the coming offseason.

10. CB Byron Jones

In the last two seasons, Pro Football Focus has graded Jones as the seventh (2018) and 14th-best (2019, entering Week 17) cornerback in the league among 131 qualifiers. He played safety early in his career, but he came into the league with versatility to offer and has made a high-level transition to corner.

As the Dallas Cowboys prioritize two other in-house free agents on this list, Jones is all but sure to hit the open market. In his prime at 27 years old, he’s set to cash in nicely.

9. WR A.J. Green

An ankle injury on the first day of training camp led to Green missing this entire season, though the Bengals didn’t officially put him on IR until after Week 16. Injuries have become an increasing issue for the seven-time Pro Bowler, with 10 or fewer games played in three of the last four seasons. But there’s no denying his resume (602 catches for 8,907 yards, 63 touchdowns) and at 31 years old (32 before next season starts) he clearly does not fit into Cincinnati’s rebuilding phase.

Green has professed a desire to win, and there should be multiple contending teams ready to make him an offer as a proverbial final piece in that quest. It will be interesting to see what kind of deal Green gets this offseason, particularly in terms of years.
