Atlanta Hawks: Get Trae Young some help

The Atlanta Hawks have the worst record in the NBA at 7-27, as well as the league’s worst point differential at minus-10.5. Trae Young is leading the team in both scoring (28.5 points per game) and assists (8.3 per game), yet his overnight leap to superstardom hasn’t mattered much.

His borderline league-worst defense is always going to create problems on that end, but the Hawks’ vision of surrounding him with complementary talent hasn’t materialized just yet, with rookies De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish notably struggling.

The biggest part of the struggle, however, has been John Collins missing 25 games due to suspension and Kevin Huerter dealing with nagging injuries. The Hawks should be better with a fully healthy roster in the near future, but it’s becoming clear the front office needs to start filling out the roster around Young a little more capably.
