Brooklyn Nets: Just stay afloat

This isn’t the season the Brooklyn Nets were hoping for, even with the knowledge Kevin Durant wouldn’t be suiting up until 2020-21. Kyrie Irving, the franchise star until KD is back, has missed 21 games, while Caris LeVert, their most important young piece outside of Irving and Durant, has missed 23.

However, despite missing so much backcourt talent, the Nets are still at .500 and Spencer Dinwiddie is playing like an All-Star. Sure, they’ve got a negative point differential, but even treading water should be enough for a playoff berth in the East this year.

This season is all about examining the role players and seeing what they can add once Irving and Durant are ready to roll. The Nets haven’t been fortunate on the injury front, but until LeVert and Kyrie are back on the floor, all they can do is just keep swimming.
