DraftKings NBA picks January 3: Always look on the Whiteside of life

We have a solid six game slate for our DraftKings NBA tournaments tonight. There are more stars here than last night with the Lakers and Rockets both in action. The undercard features Philly and Boston and we have the Wizards and Pelicans for value. This is going to get crazy. How crazy? Let’s check the injuries to see what else we are dealing with.

Out: Jusuf Nurkic (leg), Zion Williamson (knee), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Davis Bertans (quad), Thomas Bryant (foot), Justise Winslow (back), Rui Hachimura (groin), Mo Wagner (ankle), Zach Collins (shoulder), James Ennis (illness), Frank Kaminsky (knee), Nene (hip), Gerald Green (foot), Matisse Thybulle (knee), Skal Labissiere (knee), C.J. Miles (wrist), John Wall (Achilles), Rodney Hood (Achilles), Michael Cater-Williams (shoulder), Al-Farouq Aminu (knee), Robert Williams (hip), Vincent Poirier (finger), DeMarcus Cousins (knee), Darius Miller (Achilles).

Questionable: Brad Beal (leg/team playing well without him), Kemba Walker (illness), Jaylen Brown (illness), Elfrid Payton (personal), Aaron Gordon (Achilles), Alex Caruso (calf), Dennis Smith Jr. (oblique).

Brown is closer to probable, but the general feeling right now is that Kemba will be out. The Wizards are being cautious with Beal because he’s trade bait.

Last night was a total loss, but I only built three lineups. I didn’t really like the slate. Luka was good. So was Covington. However, the Warriors value failed miserably. Like….all of them besides Chriss. It was ugly.

The takedown scores keep getting lower. It was all the way down to 332.25 from TonyC1 tonight. He took it down without Luka. He built with Fox, LouWill, Lamb, Hield, SGA, Warren, Ingles, and Harrell. That’s eight salaries between $5k and $7k.

Just because you don’t see someone on here doesn’t mean they aren’t a good play. I only have so much room, and I’m not going anyone a favor if I recommend more than half of the players at a position. If you have a feeling about someone, by all means, follow that. I mostly follow numbers and trends.
