1. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

2019 Recap: It was another banner year for Brees, who missed five games a share with a thumb injury and still put up impressive numbers. He connected on a blistering 74.3 percent of his tosses for 2,979 yards and 27 touchdowns with only four interceptions and zero fumbles. In the team’s final nine games with him at the controls, the Saints scored 31 or more points in seven of those contests. Brees certainly has a slew of talented weapons at his disposal and on numerous occasions this season, he put the Saints in position to win a game via a late touchdown drive. He has full command of a very balance offense.

Postseason Pedigree: While the team’s postseason record under Payton and Brees is far from impressive (8-7), the NFL’s all-time regular-season leader in passing yards and TD passes has thrown for three times as many scores (33) as interceptions (11) in 15 postseason games with the Chargers and mostly the Saints.

Analysis: Will this third straight postseason trip finally be the charm when it comes to a second Super Bowl appearance for Brees and his team. Late last season, he didn’t look quite up to snuff and there’s been lots of speculation as to what. This year, the prolific passer appears to be at the top of his game.
