3. Chicago Bears

The Bears have already committed to Mitch Trubisky as their starting quarterback for next season, as if they had a choice really, but they can and should consider bringing in some sort of legit competition for him. Brady would of course not be pure competition, he would be brought in to outright replace Trubisky for a likely one-year run while Chicago’s defense is still pretty good.

Shy of making a deal for Cam Newton (or waiting for him to be cut) or signing Philip Rivers, the Bears will likely be challenged to add any sort of real upgrade over Trubisky this offseason (as much as they may even want to). Brady would be that kind of easy upgrade, and the idea of piloting Matt Nagy’s offense with a set of weapons who are a mix of good (Allen Robinson, David Montgomery) and unique (Tarik Cohen, Cordarrelle Patterson) might even appeal to him if/when he hits the open market. And we obviously know he can play in bad weather.

Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace will go into next season on equally warm seats, so a win-now offseason move or two is in order to upgrade certain spots on the roster. Signing Brady would be the win-now move of all win-now moves, if he’s available of course.
