2. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers lack of a fan base in Los Angeles is almost comical, if it wasn’t sort of sad, and next season they will become a tenant in the Rams’ fancy new stadium. Philip Rivers is almost certain to be gone, as he also hits free agency, so a new starting quarterback stands as an offseason need for the team.

Back in October, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports pointed to the Chargers as a spot for Brady if he did leave the Patriots. Brady of course has family in California, he often trains in Southern California and both his trainer Alex Guerrero and throwing coach Tom House live in that part of the state. So if he were to leave New England, on his own motivation or the Patriots making it clear they won’t be bringing him back, the Chargers seem sure to have some level of interest and the interest could be very mutual.

Signing Brady as he nears the end of his career would be the ultimate power move for the Chargers in the proverbial “Battle for Los Angeles” and make an event out of their games. It would be weird to see him in a powder blue jersey with a lightning bolt on his helmet, but I suspect I’m not the only one who would want a Brady powder blue Chargers jersey.
