3. Get a No. 2 wide receiver to play opposite of Michael Thomas

It’s time and the Saints need to act fast. They need to either draft a No. 2 wide receiver they can pair opposite of Michael Thomas or find one in free agency. Thomas is an incredible wide receiver, but he can’t be the only target the Saints offense looks to all the time.

Sure, the Saints went out and signed tight end Jared Cook in free agency last year, but he’s not consistent enough as a pass-catcher to be counted on as a strong No. 2 option to Thomas. He can be a great No. 3 and a strong tight end for you to move the sticks, but the Saints need that complementary receiver to better pick apart quality defenses next season.

This isn’t as easy as it sounds, as the Saints haven’t had a ton of dominating receivers in the Brees/Payton era in New Orleans. Marques Colston, among others, was excellent, but they haven’t had greatness in the receiving corps quite like they have in Thomas. Okay, maybe Jimmy Graham, but they need to fix this. Fortunately, this is a deep receiver class in the 2020 NFL Draft.
