Brock Lesnar enters the Royal Rumble at No. 1

The current World Champion just shocked the WWE Universe by announcing he’s entering the Royal Rumble as the first entrant. Here’s who we’d like to see show up at No. 2.

Paul Heyman and his client, Brock Lesnar, kicked off the first Raw of the new year in surprising fashion.

After proclaiming there are no worthy challengers for Lesnar, they went a step further and added Lesnar will enter the Royal Rumble at No. 1.

This year’s Rumble is rumored to have superstars from all three brands compete. While it’s unlikely that Lesnar will go the distance and win, this could very well set up his Wrestlemania opponent. Here are our top options:

Raw – Aleister Black

The Raw roster is a little tricky, as the traditional top stars are all involved in current feuds that have yet to finish. Enter Black, who’s on a hot streak, and it’s clear that he’s being pushed by nature of being undefeated in singles action. If there ever was a time to cement Black into the main event scene, the Rumble would accomplish that. Allowing the dark aura of Black to strike fear into Lesnar is a storyline in itself.

Smackdown – Kofi Kingston

Roman Reigns would be an obvious choice here, but we’ve been there, done that. This is just too easy to pass up. Let’s appease the WWE Universe and right a wrong in the way Kofi’s title reign ended. Kingston can finally gain some retribution for his title loss in the Rumble, even if for a brief period of time until No. 3 enters. Entering at No. 2 would be an easy feat for Kingston, as he’s an ironman. Eliminating Lesnar at some point in the Rumble would make everyone happy.

NXT – Matt Riddle

NXT will have a prominent role in this year’s Rumble, similar to that of Survivor Series. If the WWE wants to go for shock value, they should have Riddle enter at No. 2. Riddle has been vocal about wanting to retire Lesnar. This could plant the seeds for a larger feud at Wrestlemania if WWE feels Riddle is ready. At the very least, showcasing the contrasting styles with two former mixed martial artists is entertaining enough. If things were to get really interesting, they could have Goldberg enter at No. 3. Then the entire WWE Universe would have a collective “The Undertaker just loss at Wrestlemania” face.
