Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on January 14 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7:30 p.m. ET: Phoenix at Atlanta, Utah at Brooklyn
8 p.m. ET: Houston at Memphis, New York at Milwaukee
10:30 p.m. ET: Dallas at Golden State, Cleveland at LA Clippers

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

James Harden (at MEM – $13,000 on DK; $11,700 on FD): No Russell Westbrook means plenty of James Harden. and it’s a great matchup for Harden because seemingly every team is a great matchup for Harden. Expect him to drop a casual 40 with plenty of assists and rebounds, potentially hitting a triple double.

Luka Doncic (at GS – $12,600 on DK; $10,900 on FD): Porzingis remains sidelined and Luka gets to take on an easy matchup against the Warriors. The Mavericks are certainly sliding in recent weeks but this should be no problem for them and for Luka. A triple double is not out if the question for him either.

Kelly Oubre Jr. (at ATL – $7,900 on DK; $7,200 on FD): Oubre is a consistent option option and he has a great matchup against the Hawks. If the Hawks don’t have Trae, that will make life even easier for Oubre as he can run a bit more in transition. Overall a lot to like in this game and I find Oubre to offer more value than Booker.

Lou Williams (vs CLE – $7,500 on DK; $6,300 on FD): No Paul George means more Lou Williams. And it’s a great matchup for the Clippers because they are playing the Cavaliers and the Cavaliers are on a back to back. The combination of Lou and Montrezl should give the Cavaliers all kinds of issues and either is a good option on Tuesday.

Khris Middleton (vs NY – $7,400 on DK; $7,100 on FD): I’m not a fan of Giannis of Tuesday (more on that later) but I love the options below him on the Bucks. This should be a well rounded game for the Bucks and Middleton is typically a consistent option. He’s not going to hurt you and his ceiling is high given the team and the matchup.
