2. A pick and some flexibility

This is the kind of deal that’s most plausible. Detroit gets a first-round pick here, probably the one the Hawks are owed by the Nets as they wouldn’t want to give up their own pick this year. They also get Len and Chandler on expiring deals, with Len potentially interesting as a re-sign candidate this summer if he impresses and they can get team-friendly terms.

The Hawks get an interior anchor for their pick-and-roll attack. There are some fit issues between Drummond and Collins, but the latter has continued to work on his outside game and getting more solid screeners to free Trae Young and then catch his lobs is appealing. Drummond is probably not the perfect center for who the Hawks would like to be but he helps raise their floor in the short-term and doesn’t compromise long-term flexibility.
