The Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl and fans are going bonkers
By John Buhler
The Kansas City Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl! Here is a ton of their fans celebrating their monumental AFC Championship over the Tennessee Titans.
For the first time in 50 years, the Kansas City Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl. Kansas City defeated the Tennessee Titans 35-24 in Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Last year saw the Chiefs not get it done at home vs. the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship. However, in the 2019 NFL season, they would not be denied what was rightfully theirs.
Generations of Chiefs fans have not had the luxury of knowing what it feels like to be a champion…until now. While the Kansas City Royals won a World Series in 2015 and went to another in 2014, Kansas City is a Chiefs town through and through.
This is a team that went decades without having a transcendent franchise quarterback. They surely have one now, as Patrick Mahomes takes his team to the Super Bowl in his third year out of Texas Tech and in only his second as an NFL starting quarterback. This is a team that has lost a ton of playoff games at home over the years. But Sunday was Chiefs Kingdom’s day in the sun.
Here are some of their fans losing their minds and celebrating how cool it is the Chiefs were the first team to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LIV this year. Kansas City will await the NFC winner between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers down in Miami. But let’s not take the next week or so to party and party hard. The Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl!

There are very few NFL franchises who have suffered more playoff heartbreak than the Chiefs. It has been since 1970 since Kansas City got to play in a Super Bowl. While they played in two of the first four Super Bowls to date, 50 years is far too long for any fanbase to wait for their next opportunity. For Kansas City, they’ve got two weeks to get ready for the NFC down in Miami.
