When you’re as awesome as Joe Burrow, you get to eat delicious steaks named after you. Yes, this actually happened and it’s the offseason content you crave.
In 2019, Joe Burrow could do no wrong. He gave us the greatest single-season out of a quarterback in college football history. His LSU Tigers went 15-0 and won the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship, giving us arguably the greatest year out of any college football team in the modern era. And now he has a steak named after him.
Wait, what? Yes, you heard that right.
Burrow has a signature steak being served at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Columbus, Ohio called Steak Burrow. He was served the first Steak Burrow on Tuesday evening by Jeff Ruby himself. It is a “16-ounce blackened prime ribeye with creole crawfish sauce.” One bite of this delicious steak and you’ll start to feel like a champion.
This steak is not just available in Columbus, but also in Cincinnati, home of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, the team expected to draft Burrow No. 1 overall this spring.
Even more impressive than eating like a champion is this: $9 of each steak sold will go to the Athens County Food Pantry in Burrow’s hometown of Athens, Ohio. Great steak and an even better cause.
Introducing Steak Burrow: a 16oz Blackened Prime Ribeye w/ Creole Crawfish Sauce created in honor of likely @Bengals #1 draftee and his commitment to food insecurity in SE Ohio. We'll donate $9 for each steak sold to the Athens County Food Pantry! @Joe_Burrow10 pic.twitter.com/YmDXGU3b15

Burrow not only gave us an unforgettable 2019 Heisman Trophy-winning campaign, but he set the bar even higher with arguably the greatest Heisman speech to date. He talked about food insecurity impacting people from his native Southeast Ohio. People donated like crazy to the Athens County Food Pantry. Now, Ohioans can do the same thing by eating steak.
Most of us will never be as cool as Burrow. Unless you live in certain parts of Ohio, you may not be able to consume this delectable surf and turf. But what you can do to be a champion like Burrow is throw a few bucks to the Athens County Food Pantry. Every little bit helps.
LSU and Ohio State should be so proud of the man Burrow is. The Bengals are about to get an unbelievable person.
