DraftKings NBA picks January 27: Spend up front

DraftKings NBA Small Forwards:

Best Bets:

DeMar DeRozan ($8,200): DeRozan is starting to slow down, and I tend to think that this could be an Aldridge game. I may throw DeRozan out there just because it’s the Bulls. The two games under 30 DraftKings points in the last four worry me some, but this is a shallow position if Butler remains out. UPDATE: DeRozan looks great now with Aldridge sidelined.

Danilo Gallinari ($7,000): The Thunder offense is looking pretty good right now. Gallinari in particular. He has at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight games. I don’t particularly like the matchup here, but you can’t argue with what Gallo is doing of late. Is it time to finally jump on this train?

Honorable Mention:

Bojan Bogdanovic ($5,900): Bojan is one of those guys that can hit value just on points alone. You really can’t count on anything else from Bogdan. I do question how much run he’ll actually get here. I will run one lineup as if the Rockets will hang around. Who knows? They might with no stars on the court. It may be good for them. If that happens, Bojan is cheap.

Svi Mykhailiuk ($5,000): Rose and Jackson can be dynamic, but it helps to have a spot shooter on the outside as well. Mykhailiuk is playing well and playing good minutes. He’s never going to put up huge numbers, but he should come close to 30 DraftKings points here.

Dark Horses:

Danuel House ($3,900): House will likely start in this game. Whether House has started or come off the bench, it hasn’t really mattered. He is putting up between 20-25 DraftKings points per game. As with all Rockets, House’s potential goes up a little bit here. I still doubt he hits 30, but for this price, he doesn’t need to.

Dion Waiters ($3,500): Just when we thought Waiters would never play another game in a Heat uniform, he comes out and puts up 25.5 DraftKings points in 18 minutes. Butler, Nunn, and Dragic are all questionable, and it would likely take all three being out again for Waiters to get good run again. He’s a huge risk, but we can see that the return could really pay off.
