DraftKings PGA – 2020 Waste Management Open Picks

11,200 Justin Thomas

My favorite time to play Justin Thomas is when he is not the highest priced golfer on the board. Thomas is the best golfer in this field and he showcased his talent by winning earlier this year at Kapalua. Justin Thomas appears to be warming up to the Arizona climate and TPC Scottsdale, finishing T17 in 2018 and T3 in 2019 after missing two straight cuts at this event. His stats also line up really well for this course, finishing top 5 in the field last year in SG:APP, SG:TTG, and SG:TOT. He can reel off Birdies in a hurry, has tons of distance off the tee, and can win a golf tournament any time he is in the field.

9,900 Xander Schauffele

Xander missed the cut at his hometown event last week in Torrey Pines, a place where he has struggled since joining the PGA Tour.  I love the way that he sets up for TPC Scottsdale and a bounce back week after missing the cut. The X man has played this tournament twice, finishing T17 and T10. He is priced right and he has all the tools to win at this course. He bombs it off the tee, is solid on approach, and loves putting on these West Coast greens. Fire up some Xander this week.

8,800 Sungjae Im

If you tell me that Sungjae Im is playing at one of the easiest courses on the PGA Tour, then I’m telling you to roster him. Im is a birdie master. He can go low, and will. I do not love his strokes gained numbers for this course, but when Sungjae Im is playing at a birdie-fest, then you roster him. His putter is nails and he has solid distance off the tee. Im fired a -11 in 2019 to finish T7 at this course.
