4. A Plethora Of Offensive Weapons

The difference in offensive style has to be noted, but the Chiefs surround Patrick Mahomes with big play potential all over the field. Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman and Damien Williams. The 49ers have ample talent, but they have a more-run oriented philosophy as they don’t try to (and probably can’t) stretch the field and test a defense in quite the same fashion.

49ers’ defensive coordinator Robert Saleh acknowledged the challenge he and his unit have in front of them last week.

"“Very explosive,” Saleh said, via Jennifer Lee Chan of NBCSportsBayArea.com. “Mahomes has gotten better. They’re at every position — it almost looks like they got their roster from the Olympic relay team and threw them all on the field. Not to say that they can’t run routes or can’t catch either, because they can do that. “They are a special group and you can see why they are there."

As they scored 86 points in their first two playoff games, the Chiefs also averaged a robust 6.9 yards per play.  A top-notch 49ers’ defense, with vulnerability on the perimeter if they have any anywhere, may be left looking mortal by the end of Sunday’s game.
