[live_blog_entry author=”24492″ id=”LBE20″]A few other minor deals have been finalized:

    • Gorgui Dieng is reportedly headed to the Memphis Grizzlies for the newly acquired James Johnson. In practicality, this will end up being connected to the Miami-Memphis deal.
    • The Wizards have reportedly sent Jordan McRae to the Nuggets for Shabazz Napier.
    • The Magic have reportedly landed James Ennis from the 76ers.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry title=”Oh, no Detroit, what is you doing?” author=”24492″ id=”LBE19″]The Woj bombs are rolling in. Apparently the Cavaliers have landed Andre Drummond for the PALTRY sum of Brandon Knight’s expiring contract, John Henson and a second-round pick. This seems like an amazingly small price for Drummond as neither Henson or Knight are useful and cap relief is hard to claim when Drummond only has one more year on his deal.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE18″ title=”The Clippers win the battle for Marcus Morris” author=”24492″]The Lakers and Clippers were reportedly both jockeying for a chance to grab Marcus Morris from the New York Knicks. The Lakers’ unwillingness to part with Kyle Kuzma turned out to be the deciding factor and it has been reported that Morris will head to the Clippers. The final details are being worked out by Moe Harkless will head to New York for salary matching purposes, along with some combination of young players and a pick.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE17″ title=”Moving the pieces around the board” author=”24492″]In what may be a prelude to something else, the Trail Blazers have reportedly agreed to send Skal Labissiere and cash to the Atlanta Hawks. Is his clearing a roster spot in Portland for something else?

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE16″ title=”THE ROCKETS DON’T WANT YOUR BIGS” author=”24492″]The Rockets pulled off a huge deal yesterday, sending out Clint Capela and bringing in Robert Covington. It’s an interesting deal that made them unbelievably small but at least they brought in Jordan Bell in that deal. Whoops, now ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Houston will send Bell to Memphis for Bruno Cabocolo.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE15″ title=”The Timberwolves got their man” author=”24492″]The Timberwolves aggressive pursuit of D’Angelo Russell has been the NBA’s worst-kept secret over the past few weeks. Hours before the deadline, they finally landed their man. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Warriors would trade Russell to Minnesota, along with Omari Spellman and Jacob Evans, in return for Andrew Wiggins, a top-3 protected 2021 first-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry title=”More details on the Iguodala deal” author=”24492″ id=”LBE14″]The Andre Iguodala trade was reported last night but apparently some details were being hammered out and all of the moving parts were not yet finalized. Now, Shams Charania is reporting the Grizzles are also sending Solomon Hill and Jae Crowder to Miami, getting Dion Waiters and James Johnson in return. The final iteration of this deal did not include Oklahoma City or Danilo Gallinari, turning out to be build around the Justise Winslow for Andre Iguodala swap, with the pieces above filling in the gaps.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE13″ title=”Warriors trading Burks and Robinson to 76ers” author=”17960″]The Warriors held Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III out of Wednesday night’s game, and as it turns out, for good reason: They’re both being shipped to the Philadelphia 76ers for three second-round picks, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, those picks will be a 2020 second-rounder via Dallas, a 2021 second-rounder via Denver and a 2022 second-rounder via Toronto.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE12″ title=”Heat land Andre Iguodala, could turn into a 3-team deal involving Gallo” author=”17960″]The Heat have landed one of their potential two big fish, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Details are still coming through as far as what the Grizzlies got in return, but ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill were late scratches in Wednesday night’s game, which means they may be included in the package. The Heat also gave Iguodala a two-year, $30 million extension, with the second year being a team option. That’s a massive overpay for a 36-year-old who hasn’t played all season, but at least the second year is a team option. Wojnarowski also reported Justise Winslow is part of the package being sent to Memphis, while Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports neither James Johnson nor Dion Waiters suited up for Wednesday’s game. Now it remains to be seen whether Pat Riley can expand it to a three-team deal involving Danilo Gallinari and the Oklahoma City Thunder, which Yahoo! Sports’ Keith Smith reports may wind up being the case. Wojnarowski later confirmed talks had expanded to include OKC in a potential three-team swap. (Trade grades coming soon as the full details emerge!)

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE11″ title=”Pistons and Suns reach an impasse ” author=”17960″]The Suns were reportedly on the prowl for Luke Kennard to add some much-needed shooting and a creator for the second unit, but the proposed package — Jevon Carter, Elie Okobo and the Suns’ protected first-round pick — isn’t exactly a Godfather offer. To that end, it’s not surprising the two sides have reached an impasse as far as the protections on that first-rounder, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry title=”Teams eyeing the Bald Mamba” author=”24492″ id=”LBE10″]Multiple teams are inquiring about Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Chris B. Haynes. While it’s unlikely the Lakers will be interested in dealing one of their best bench players, he’s not untouchable by any means either, and L.A. has been in the market for an upgrade at point guard. This could be something to keep an eye on, though at this point, it sounds like the interest in a Caruso trade is coming from the other side of the table.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE9″ title=”Interest in Tsunami Papi” author=”17960″]According to The New York Times‘ Marc Stein, the Phoenix Suns are fielding trade offers for their starting small forward Kelly Oubre Jr., who was just re-signed to a two-year, $30 million deal over the summer. It’d be curious for the Suns to move Tsunami Papi unless he was part of a deal for a star, but the language here is important: The Suns are fielding trade calls, as they should for any player who isn’t untouchable. They’re not actively trying to move him. Mikal Bridges looks like a key piece of the core, so Oubre — who has only one more year left on his deal and is in the midst of a career year — certainly doesn’t fit that category of being untouchable. It’d be surprising for the Suns to part with the leader of the “Valley Boyz,” but more than likely, they’re just listening to offers and doing their due diligence.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE8″ title=”An exploratory committee” author=”24492″]Shams Charania is reporting that the Knicks have had “exploratory conversations” with the Lakers about a trade for Kyle Kuzma. When you have just fired your team president two days before the trade deadline, why not wade in on overpaying for middling prospect?

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE7″ title=”WHAT?” author=”24492″]I don’t even know what to do with this — The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor is reporting that the Knicks and Rockets have engaged in trade discussions about Julius Randle. I can’t see anything on the Rockets roster that would be of value to the Knicks and it’s difficult to see Randle being a useful piece in Houston either — he doesn’t shoot and most of his value is derived from having the ball in his hands.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE6″ title=”Kennard could be a Sun?” author=”24492″]One of the strangest rumors to pop up this week is about Luke Kennard possibly heading to the Suns. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has Elie Okobo, Jevon Carter and a pick heading back to the Pistons in the hypothetical deal. It’s confusing on both fronts. Kennard is one of the only good young pieces the Pistons have for a potential rebuild and neither Okobo or Carter look to have starter-level ceilings. For the Suns, Kennard’s shooting could certainly help but his value would have to be minimized by slotting him into an already crowded backcourt and wing rotation.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE5″ title=”Andre Drummond to the Clippers?” author=”24492″]Rod Bear of The Detroit News is reporting that the Clippers might be interested in Andre Drummond, with Moe Harkless, Ivica Zubac and JaMychal Green mentioned as potential pieces to go back to Detroit. Drummond certainly makes sense for Los Angeles but even if picks are coming back to Detroit here this seems like a depressingly small return.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE4″ title=”Something for everyone” author=”24492″]Multiple sources, including The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski have mentioned the possibility of a three-way deal involving the Hawks, Timberwolves and Rockets. The rough outline would have Robert Covington going to Houston, Clint Capela going to the Hawks and picks going from the Hawks to the Timberwolves who would then be flipping them to the Warriors to acquire D’Angelo Russell. It’s the rare deal that seems like it would work well for everyone.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry title=”Rumors are rolling in” author=”24492″ id=”LBE3″]The trade deadline is days away and the rumor mill is heating up. This morning, The New York Times’ Marc Stein dropped a few interesting nuggets, including:

    • The Warriors are open to trading D’Angelo Russell and the Timberwolves are VERY interested.
    • The Timberwolves are seeking two first-round picks in any trade for Robert Covington
    • Everyone is expecting the Clippers to do something this week

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE2″ title=”A new home for Clint Capela” author=”24492″]ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Houston Rockets are exploring Clint Capela deals with several teams, including the Hawks (who he went out of his way to specifically name in the tweet). Woj also mentioned that multi-tem scenarios were in play which there would have to be — Capela makes plenty of sense as a defender and rim-runner for the Hawks but it’s hard to find anything on the Hawks roster that gets the Rockets closer to a title this season.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE1″ title=”Is Dedmon still going to be moved?” author=”24492″]Dewayne Dedmon is one of the most likely players to be moved at the deadline — he’s out of the rotation in Sacramento and has been vocal about his frustrations, asking for a trade. Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee has reported that the Kings are willing to reconcile with Dedmon. However, his minutes aren’t likely to increase dramatically and this may just be a ploy to try and regain some of the leverage they lost with Dedmon speaking out so loudly.

[/live_blog_entry][live_blog_entry id=”LBE1″ title=”Hassan Whiteside could be on the move?” author=”24492″]The Athletic’s Jason Quick is reporting that the Trail Blazers will listen to offers for Hassan Whiteside and gives even odds that they’ll find a deal before the deadline. The Trail Blazers have had a disappointing season but are still lurking close enough to grab a playoff spot. Whiteside is averaging 15.6 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game this season.
