The Chiefs might be the favorites to win Super Bowl 54, but the 49ers have the substance to pull off the upset and cement their place in NFL history.

One of the best things about Super Bowl 54’s match-up between the Chiefs and 49ers is that there are plenty of reasons for both fan bases to be encouraged about their team’s chances for victory. The game has all the makings of a classic, but in the end, look for the 49ers to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Nothing about this game screams blowout though. If you’re planning to host or attend a Super Bowl party, you will need enough snacks and refreshments to cover four quarters of intense action. The chances of this game getting out of hand are minimal.

San Francisco is the right pick to emerge victorious though. They are a team flush with substance pitted against a Chiefs team that thrives on sizzle and style. Keep reading to learn three reasons why you should back the 49ers to win Super Bowl 54.

5. The ‘Niners run game will dominate

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ passing game are going to rack up some yards and points in this game. The key for San Francisco will be to keep the ball away from the Kansas City offense for long stretches of time.

Their ability to do that will hinge on their offensive line’s ability to win the battle up front. Look for the injury to Chiefs’ defensive tackle Chris Jones to show up really big on Super Bowl Sunday. San Francisco is going to grind out yards by running the ball between the tackles early and often. Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman might not be household names coming into the big game, but both guys have a chance to change that in a big way with a massive Super Bowl performance.
