Kyle Turley played in the NFL for a decade, paying a price for it physically and mentally. He has since found the power of cannabis has helped him live better.

Kyle Turley played offensive tackle in the NFL for a decade for three different franchises. The two-time All-Pro dealt with more than his fair share of injuries throughout his professional career, whether that was at the beginning of his career with the New Orleans Saints, the middle with the then-St. Louis Rams or at the end with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Turley spoke with FanSided‘s Mark Carman on behalf of Neuro XPF and Shango on how the power of cannabis and CBD has helped him live his best life in the last six years. “After the game is over, people don’t walk away, they gimp away,” said Turley.

“Having to go through that for the first decade after football, dealing with all those injuries and having to take all those medications they prescribed you. … Not understanding cannabis took me down a road I had to recover from. … The discovery of this cannabinoid system that has proven to me over six years now that I never needed anyone of those pills ever.”

When Turley played in the NFL (1998-07), head injuries and pain management weren’t dealt with even remotely close to the manner they are today. He says the NFL denied him the understanding of what CTE was and the dangerous side effects that came about from all the painkillers and psychiatric medications he was taking.

While Turley says he only took two-three Vicodin a day, other players have abused the drug. He added the biggest neurological issue he has had in his post-playing career was with bouts of vertigo. Since adopting the healing powers of cannabis over six years ago, Turley says he has not had one issue with vertigo since making the switch.

Turley is picking his former team in the Chiefs to win Super Bowl 54 over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, but that’s not what’s important here. He seems to be in great spirits and looks to be living his best life since becoming an advocate for the healing powers of cannabis and CBD.
