Dhani Jones, Juice Williams get us ready for Special Olympics in 2022

Dhani Jones and Antrone “Juice” Williams get us excited for the Special Olympics ahead of Super Bowl 54 down in Miami, coming our way in 2022.
The Super Bowl is all about bringing people together to enjoy watching sports. Linebacker Dhani Jones spent 11 years in the NFL with four teams, playing in Super Bowl 39 as a member of the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles. He had a great playing career, but it’s not about him today. It’s about him supporting athletes like Antrone “Juice” Williams who take part in the Special Olympics.
Williams’ story is an amazing one. “Well, first of all, I was a college athlete, semi-pro basketball player,” said Williams to FanSided‘s Mark Carman. “Then on Sept. 26, 2012, I had a massive brain hemorrhage stroke that had me in a coma for 10 days and in the hospital for two months, with a 50/50 chance of living. But by the grace of God and being a part of Special Olympics, I was able to get back to how I am right now.”
“I love a story of never giving up,” said Jones on Williams. “There have been so many people that have been on the brink of tragedy and have crossed over. And there have been resounding stories of those who have stayed with us and have gone on to do amazing things.”
“When we think about Juice’s perspective and Special Olympics, he’s done just that. He’s a living, walking, breathing story of the power of a community and an organization that changes people’s lives.”
Williams’ two sports he plays in Special Olympics are basketball and flag football. Jones added that it’s not just flag football, but unified flag football, meaning it’s a special opportunity “for those with intellectual disabilities and those that do not to co-mingle and play the sport together.”
Through perseverance and the power of community, anything can be accomplished. Great people like Williams and Jones are an inspiration to us all.
