12. Mahomes hooks up with Travis Kelce on a jump ball

The Chiefs have also made their division rivals, the Oakland Raiders, frequent victims of Mahomes magic. A classic example occurred in Week 13 when the Raiders came to Kansas City in a must-win scenario after dropping a disastrous game at the Jets the week before.

The Chiefs built a 7-0 lead early and were threatening again, with a 1st-and-10 at the Raiders’ 39-yard line. (Note: The play occurs 39 seconds in.) Oakland brought the pressure, forcing Mahomes to back up all the way to his own 45, where he still managed to put a perfect football up for Travis Kelce to go get.

Kelce went up and got it, coming down just past the sticks for a first down, setting the tone early in the Chiefs’ big win over the Raiders.

Mahomes faced a 2nd-and-goal from the five, where he eluded the rush to throw a strike right to the hands of Travis Kelce for a key touchdown.

That would be one of three touchdowns for Kelce on the day, a sign of the incredible bond the quarterback and tight end have formed over the years.
