DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

On paper this is not a good matchup for Mike James. That’s on paper. He put up 42.5 DraftKings points in the first matchup against Efes. Shane Larkin only had 29 in that game. Even though the matchup on paper favors Larkin, the past stats favor James. This is the only tough decision at the top of the guard pool. I told you it was shallow.

Vassilis Spanoulis has been pretty inconsistent this year. He did put up 30.5 DraftKings points on Zalgiris earlier this year and that was with Grigonis in the lineup. This is one of those days where it could pay to trust Spanoulis since I’m not sold on the top two options. Thomas Walkup is a good play on the other side with Grigonis out. So is Lukas Lekavicius, but he’s getting expensive.

The price on Nihad Dedovic is steadily climbing with good reason. This is a nice matchup with Belgrade, a team that he put 25 DraftKIngs points on the first time.  I also like Peyton Siva in this tier, and it has everything to do with the matchup. He put 26.25 on Milan the first time around.

Krunoslav Simon was good in the first meeting with CSKA, but I’m not sure we can trust him. I also like Theo Maledon, but as with Lekavicius, he’s getting expensive enough as to where it’s really going to hurt your lineup if he doesn’t perform. That said, Maledon has at least 22 DraftKings points in three straight.

I do like the value on Rodrigue Beaubois. The price is in an acceptable range considering he doesn’t start and he has over 20 DraftKings points in two of the last three games. Maodo Lo had a nice game against Villeurbanne the first time around and he still gets good minutes. Don’t expect Lo to go for high 20’s again, but he is at least scoring in double digits.

The Baskonia point guard situation is a bit of a mess here. I thought it would be Matt Janning who took the reins, but he only mustered nine DraftKings points. Semaj Christon did about as well as he did at $2,000 less. However, it was Sergi Garcia who did the best with 17 DraftKings points. The kicker is that he’s listed as a forward.
