DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

Damian Lillard ($10,000): Dame was a dud as his team got run out of the building by the battered Nuggets. While that was embarrassing, Lillard has a chance to get back on track here against a Spurs team that has allowed 94.75 DraftKings points to Lillard in two games this year. I get the feeling that Dame goes unnoticed on a slate with LeBron, A.D., Giannis, and Harden. This could be the best time to use him.

Ben Simmons ($8,100): Who said Simmons and Embiid can’t play together? They both topped 55 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Milwaukee on Christmas. Were they both just in the giving mood for the holiday? Whatever the case, it can be done. Will it happen again? Probably not. The Sixers stole Christmas from the Bucks and fans and revenge is forthcoming. I do see a solid game from at least one of Embiid or Simmons though. My money is on Simmons.

Honorable Mention:

Elfrid Payton ($7,300): Honestly, I hate this matchup, but Payton has 104 DraftKings points over the last two games and might be the only healthy guard besides Ntilikina and Allen if DSJ is traded. This is a smash spot for Payton with guaranteed minutes. Besides, he’s probably pissed that Orlando landed him with the freaking Knicks. It was indirectly through Phoenix, but still. He was doing fine for Orlando. Payback is a mother….

Lonzo Ball ($6,900): This is a tough matchup for Ball, but with the way he is playing lately, I’m not sure it matters. Ball has at least 5x value in four of the last five games and six of the last nine. We could see him shoulder more of the load if Zion is out or if Holiday is traded. Even if everything stays the way it is now, Ball is a solid mid-tier play.

Dark Horses:

Tomas Satoransky ($5,400): Satoransky has been a fixture on the injury report for the last month, but he hasn’t had to miss a game yet for his mild maladies. There isn’t a ton of upside here with Satoransky, but he has been between at 5x value or better in all but one of the last five games. This is a very nice matchup with the Pelicans, so expect him somewhere around 30 DraftKings points. That’s a good return for the price.

Dennis Smith Jr. ($4,200): If DSJ isn’t traded to Minnesota, he’s a strong play with all of the Knick guards banged up. Smith can play either guard spot and the Knicks have been more committed to getting him minutes of late. Maybe it was just to showcase him for a trade. Whatever the case, if Smith is still a Knick by tipoff, he’s a nice GPP dart with a clear path to minutes.
