3. Brighton and Watford play out entertaining 2-2 draw

The later game on Saturday is a bottom of the table clash between Brighton and Watford. Brighton are hovering just above the relegation zone whilst Watford are second from bottom and staring relegation in the face.

The Hornets are only three points behind the Seagulls though and a win could see them escape the drop zone this weekend if results go their way. Nigel Pearson has done a good job since taking over at Watford and he’ll have been extremely disappointed with his side’s loss to Everton last weekend in which they blew a two goal lead.

Brighton haven’t been brilliant this season but they’ve definitely improved upon their style of play under Graham Potter. Free-flowing soccer doesn’t always lead to Premier league safety and if Potter’s side don’t find more consistency then they could find themselves in a relegation battle as well.

This weekend the Seagull’s have a good opportunity to distance themselves from the drop against a Watford side that is hard to predict. The Hornets haven’t won since an impressive 3-0 victory over Bournemouth and since then they’ve lost to League One side, Tranmere, in the cup and lost from winning positions against Aston Villa and Everton.

Brighton looked down and out against West Ham last weekend but they somehow managed to come back from 3-1 down to secure a point at the London Stadium. David Moyes was rightly furious with his side but that result showed the spirit that Brighton have.

This game is going to be full of spirit and both these sides will leave it all out there on the pitch. It’s hard to see neither team conceding but it’s equally difficult to call an outright winner. For that reason, the prediction is that this match will have four goals split evenly in a 2-2 stalemate.
