2020 NFL Draft: New York Jets 7-round mock
Now it’s time to get some more weapons for the Jets, especially with Robby Anderson entering free agency. They have Jamison Crowder to play the slot, and Quincy Enunwa as a speed guy, but getting a true top option would be nice. The good news is that in a deep receiver class, there will impact players in round three. That’s what they get here with Denzel Mims.
Mims went back for his senior season instead of declaring for the 2019 draft, and it made all the difference. He looked so much smoother as a route runner and looked good at stacking corners to work vertically down the field. Mims put together a great Senior Bowl on top of it, and will be a riser in the 2020 NFL Draft process.
There’s a chance that Trumaine Johnson could be a cap casualty in 2020, and even if he stays, corner is a need for this team. They have enough room to go after someone like Byron Jones, Chris Harris or Bradley Roby in free agency, but adding another guy to the mix would be good.
Cameron Dantzler brings plenty to the table as a cornerback prospect. Dantzler has the size and length to play on the boundary, along with the physicality and instincts to jam at the line and make plays on the ball. He’s a steal at this spot in the draft.
