NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds on DraftKings and FanDuel Feb. 9
Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on February 9 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.
Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:
6 p.m. ET: Memphis at Washington, Chicago at Philadelphia, New York at Atlanta
7 p.m. ET: Utah at Houston
7:30 p.m. ET: LA Clippers at Cleveland
9 p.m. ET: Miami at Portland
How this works:
Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.
Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.
Studs
Damian Lillard (vs MIA – $10,200 on DK; $ on FD): It’s a tough matchup as the Heat is great against the position but without Butler they are obviously a worse defensive team overall. And I’m not doubting this Lillard, especially this Lillard coming off that terrible goaltending call. He will be on a mission and I think he ends as the highest scorer on the night.
Bradley Beal (vs MEM – $9,900 on DK; $ on FD): Beal continues to put up strong and consistent numbers. And the Grizzlies are coming off a pretty ugly performance against the 76ers. Beal has the Wizards nearly in a playoff spot and I love the way he’s playing right now. He’s guaranteed value with a high ceiling.
Rudy Gobert (at HOU – $8,000 on DK; $ on FD): Gobert has a limited offensive game but he can grab all the rebounds and score on easy buckets in the paint. I will continue to take any solid center against the Rockets due to their lack of size. And Gobert can obviously be dominating in his own way. He’s a guaranteed double double and then some.
Kevin Love (vs LAC – $7,700 on DK; $ on FD): The addition of Drummond is going to help Love in a big way. Drummond is a great playmaker and he and Love could easily get a two-man game similar to the two-man game Blake and Drummond had when they could actually stay healthy. He’s at a good salary given his overall potential and won’t hurt you.
Ja Morant (at WAS – $6,300 on DK; $ on FD): The Grizzlies can’t be as bad as they were against the Sixers. The Wizards are better than they’ve ever been but their defense still leaves plenty to be desired. There’s good value on the Grizzlies in this one given the matchup.
