1. Make a decision on the quarterback for the long term

Yes, the Dolphins have a new offensive coordinator in well-traveled Chan Gailey. He hasn’t coached in the NFL since 2016 but it’s interesting to note that he has a past relationship with veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. The duo did some things when they worked together as head coach and quarterback in Buffalo from 2010-12.

This past year, the 15-year bearded wonder finished with 20 touchdown passes compared to only 13 interceptions in his 15 outings. But it’s also worth noting that the veteran signal-caller came up with 10 scores and was picked off only three times in the club’s final five contests – which included victories over the playoff-bound Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots.

Fitzpatrick did absorb a career-high 40 sacks in ’19 but lost only two fumbles and as previously noted, led the team in rushing yards. Of course, the 37-year-old performer is not the franchise’s long-term answer behind center.

There will be some much speculation when it comes to what the Dolphins will do with their plethora of draft choice and whether they will move up in the first round from the No. 5 spot? Speaking of fifth, that’s what the club gave up a year ago to acquire the services of Josh Rosen from the Cardinals. Will the ‘Fins stick with him and groom a rookie as the future? Where does Rosen fit into Miami’s future plans? Flores and Grier have a lot of options.
