3. Tennessee Titans

As last season wound down, Matt Miller of Bleacher Report passed along a rumor suggesting Rivers would “love” to play for the Titans. And with what they subsequently did in the playoffs, with two big upsets and a lead in the AFC title game, Tennessee looks like a team on the rise and certainly a nice fit for a veteran quarterback.

From Tennessee’s end, any plan under center for next season currently centers on what they decide to do with Ryan Tannehill. He was the spark the team needed upon taking over for Marcus Mariota last season, going 7-3 as the starter during the regular season as he set career marks in many categories. The Titans could use a tag on him, sign him to a multi-year deal or just let him hit the market unabated with no intent to circle back and re-sign him.

Rivers and the Titans are a good match, but Tannehill has to be out of the team’s plans for it to happen. If not for that uncertainty, and the possibility of a move in a total other direction (Tom Brady?), there would be a strong case for Tennessee to be higher on this list of Rivers suitors.
