2. Los Angeles Chargers

There might not be a team in the league linked to more options at quarterback than the Los Angeles Chargers. A down year from Philip Rivers has the Chargers poised to move on from their longtime signal caller, with Rivers reportedly moving his family out of California in anticipation of a new gig.

The Chargers are well positioned to find a long term answer to the quarterback position in the draft, sitting with the sixth overall pick. That should position Los Angeles to land a guy like Justin Herbert or Tua Tagovailoa, but what the Chargers desperately need is an infusion of star power.

Since moving from San Diego, the Chargers have never been truly accepted by Los Angeles, with their home games at a small soccer stadium in Carson swarming with the opposing team’s fans. The Chargers know that what sells in Hollywood is star power, and that is something the franchise sorely lacks at the moment.

That would change with a trade for Prescott, who would give Los Angeles a new franchise quarterback to market around as the team prepares to move into SoFi Stadium this fall. Prescott would also work well in Anthony Lynn’s offense, which emphasizes the running game to create big play opportunities down the field for receivers like Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

The Chargers would happily part with a package of draft picks headlined by this year’s sixth overall choice in order to secure Prescott’s services. It is unlikely the Cowboys would seriously listen, however, unless they get the sense Prescott won’t sign a long term deal with them.
