4. A third wide receiver

Cleveland has a lot of money invested in their top two receivers. They’ll have nearly $30 million in cap space this season on Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landryper Over The Cap — and they still believe both can be elite playmakers.

Last season for the Browns, which wasn’t one with a consistently good offense, both OBJ and Landry topped the 1,000-yard mark.

However, there was no other wide receiver that posed even the slightest threat as second Damion Ratley’s 200 yards was the most by any receiver outside of Beckham and Landry. After him, KhaDarel Hodge had 76 yards making him the fourth-most productive wideout on the team entering 2020.

They didn’t expect that to be the case as they did enter 2019 with Antonio Callaway on the roster. After a solid rookie season, the team had high hopes for the speedster from Florida.

Unfortunately, Callaway found himself suspended and eventually cut by Cleveland. He’s now in the XFL, but on the Tampa Bay Vipers injured reserve.

As is the case with their linebacking corps, this isn’t a gaping hole for the Browns. They aren’t in desperate need of a wide receiver but they do need to find someone who can be the third guy for them. They seem to believe Rashard Higgins is not that guy and selling fans on KhaDarel Hodge or Ratley as the No. 3 won’t be easy either.
