Rodney McLeod provided quality play at free safety, and Malcolm Jenkins was incredible at strong safety last season. Together, both players helped sure up an otherwise shaky secondary.

Here is the kicker, though: McLeod is going to be an unrestricted free agent shortly. Coming off this past season, there is a good chance he priced out of the team’s range.

Jenkins, a much more detrimental departure if he does leave, has indicated he won’t be back in Philadelphia if he isn’t given a new deal. In related news, the team should turn their eyes to Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

If Jenkins is signed up and ready to go, then pursuing Clinton-Dix would be upgrading and solidifying the safety spots. If they can swing it, this would be a big plus.

Clinton-Dix has always had the ball-hawk gene. After hitting the open market and signing a one-year deal last offseason, he has become a more complete player after his one season in Chicago.

The former first-round pick is 27 years old. In 96 games, he has 16 picks, 5.5 sacks and 522 combined tackles. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016 as well.
