player. 42. . Safety. San Francisco 49ers. Xavier McKinney. 31

The San Francisco 49ers were the best team in the NFC all season long, and they followed their marvelous regular season up with a run to the Super Bowl. In fact, it looked like they had the Super Bowl in hand during most of the game, until Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs on an incredible run in the fourth quarter.

Looking at this 49ers roster, there is no doubt they have some incredible talent, and should be right back in the  mix for an NFC title in 2020. However,  they have to get better in their defensive backfield, specifically at safety, and they could get a Day 1 starter in Xavier McKinney at No. 31 overall in the first round.

This guy comes with a championship pedigree, and with Jimmie Ward hitting free agency, the 49ers could replace him with a cheaper option here. That would allow them to spend money elsewhere, and with few holes to fill, the 49ers should be a dominant team in the NFC for years to come.

Cornerback. Kansas City Chiefs. Jeff Gladney. 32. player. 124.

The Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years earlier this month, and because of that, they will hold the final selection in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. There are a few holes on this roster that need to be addressed, but as we saw last season, the play of Patrick Mahomes can make any deficiency disappear in a hurry.

However, while the team was much better against the pass last season in the secondary, they should still go out and get some more young talent back there. Juan Thornhill is going to be a star at safety, and at cornerback, a prospect like Jeff Gladney could be a perfect fit for this defense moving forward.

It is never easy to repeat as Super Bowl champions, but the Chiefs have the talent on both sides of the ball to make a serious run this upcoming season. Mahomes is an absolute nightmare for defenses, and if the Chiefs defense continues to add pieces, they are the favorite heading into 2020.
