Losing football has been entrenched in the DNA of the Jets. Without a winning season since 2015, and a playoff appearance since 2010, the Jets have tried to turn off that collision course.

While it has been a long road back, the team has positioned itself in a favorable spot. Sam Darnold has shown signs of becoming a good quarterback, Jamal Adams has become an All-Pro safety, and general manager Joe Douglas now gets his first offseason running the show.

If Douglas wants to make his presence felt, signing Cooper would be a nice way of doing so. Last offseason, former general manager Mike Maccagnan signed two coveted players in Le’Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley.

Douglas doesn’t have the same financial leeway this offseason that Maccagnan was allotted in last years. But he still has enough to make impact moves.

Like most scenarios on this list, the Jets are yet another team re-establishing themselves with a young quarterback. Therefore, you need to give Darnold the necessary weapons like the Bills and Cardinals need to do for Allen and Murray.

Robby Anderson is a free agent and he will garner interest. If need be, Douglas should allow Anderson to get priced out of town and then pivot to Cooper. Cooper would immediately become the team’s number-one receiver, and the best wideout the Jets has had since Brandon Marshall.
