3. Baltimore Ravens

Current cap space: $32,889,537

Yes, the current cap number the Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has to work with is not favorable. However, after winning 24 regular-season games over the past two seasons, this is a spot where you need to go for it.

Agreeing to terms with Clowney would be massive. After watching player after player walk in free agency, or not be in on the biggest names on the market, due to Joe Flacco’s contract, DeCosta is able to make a splash this offseason.

While a Clowney signing might make things tight for 2020, the team’s cap opens up drastically after that. According to spotrac.com, the team’s available cap space jumps to over $107 million after next season.

Lamar Jackson and the league’s top offense led the charge for the AFC’s best regular-season team. On defense, they were almost more impressive considering the fact the team saw C.J. Mosley and Za’Darius Smith leave in free agency last offseason.

Allowing the third-fewest points (282), strongly defending the pass, and scoring at will on offense, the Ravens have one of the more well-rounded teams in the NFL.

Clowney would complete them. The one area where you noticed the team needed help was the pass rush. Instead of re-signing the team’s 2019 sack leader Matt Judon, DeCosta should upgrade with Clowney and position the team to make numerous Super Bowl runs.

How does the thought of Clowney joining Earl Thomas, Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters sound?
