2. Jack Grealish leads Aston Villa to victory over Southampton

Southampton host Aston Villa on Saturday in a relegation crunch battle. These two sides have shown flashes of brilliance this season but haven’t been consistent enough to avoid the relegation zone. Southampton have given themselves a bit of breathing room but could be pulled back into the mix with just a couple of losses.

Villa have a good team but defensively they’re too naive for the Premier League. They are often found too open at the back and have a tendency to chase results when settling for less could have been more beneficial. They’ve already conceded 50 goals this season and if those kind of defensive performances continue then it’s hard to see them surviving this season.

Southampton will probably be fine but, with a side that has struggled previously, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them endure another rough patch. The goals of Danny Ings have been key to the Saints escaping the bottom of the table so providing service to him is crucial for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

Dean Smith’s side are run and energized by the impressive Jack Grealish. It’s rare for a flair player to hold the captain’s armband and be the leader on the pitch but the Englishman does this brilliantly. He constantly drives his team on and motivates them to be better with the ability that he demonstrates each week.

No matter what happens to Aston Villa this season, Jack Grealish won’t be a Villa player for the 2020-21 Premier League season. His level is too high be scrambling in relegation-threatened sides when he could be helping one of the big six to bigger and better things. That being said, Grealish loves Aston Villa and he’ll want to do all that he can to make sure they stay up this season.

This weekend he will have a goal and an assist to help Aston Villa to a 2-1 victory over Southampton. Villa will race into a 2-0 lead but Danny Ings will pull one back for the Saints. Hasenhuttl’s side will push for the equaliser but through luck more than anything, Villa will hold on for the win.
