NBA Fanduel – Top Targets

Welcome back everyone! Last night had some ups and downs and we’ve kicked off the second half of the NBA season as we’re used to it. We get to kick off the weekend with a strong 9 game NBA slate with a few top tier players and some great value finds. We should see a balance of ownership tonight but we will get some confusing spots also. So lets dive in and see who we should be targeting! Good luck and cash out!

Point Guards:

Top Tier: Luka Doncic versus Orlando Magic ($10,300)

Now Luka Doncic is coming in to this slate at a very top dollar price but he has a great match-up so it’s for good reason. He is currently holding a usage rating of 37% while averaging 1.56 fantasy points per minute. Doncic was able to log one game in after dealing with a injury and sitting out for seven games. He picked up where he left off at with 55.4 fantasy points, recording 16 points, five assists and two rebounds.

Now Luka Doncic gets to face an Orlando Magic team that has some issues versus guards. They are currently allowing opposing point guards to average 23 points, nine assists and six rebounds per game. In the first game between the two teams, Luka was able to record 27 points, seven assists and seven rebounds in 37 minutes of court time.

Mid Tier: Kyle Lowry versus Phoenix Suns ($7,400)

If you’re looking to save at the point guard position as the salary dips after Luka Doncic, Kyle Lowry is next best up. He’s currently averaging 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds per game with a usage rate of 23%. Lowry is also averaging 1.06 fantasy points per minute and has a ceiling of 57.6 fantasy points tonight.

This Phoenix Suns have turned themselves around and aren’t the joke of the NBA but they are still slacking in some areas. They are currently allowing opposing point guards to average 24 points with nine assists and six rebounds per game. Both, the Suns and Raptors, average 105 possessions per game so we should see a fairly quicker game which gives Lowry more opportunities to exceed value.

Low Tier: Lonzo Ball versus Portland Trailblazers ($6,300)

Besides being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, being teammates with a healthy Zion Williamson is the second greatest thing to happen to Lonzo Ball. He’s currently averaging 31.6 fantasy points per game and .98 fantasy points per minute. He gets to face a Portland Trailblazers team that also gives up a good amount of assists and Lonzo is pretty good at finding the open teammate.

On defensive side of things, Portland not only gives up nine assists but they allow opposing point guards to average 25 points and seven rebounds per game. Another plus side is that the Pelicans average about four more possessions per game then the Portland Trailblazers. Lonzo does have a ceiling of 54.7 fantasy points for this game but is projected for 36 point, exceeding his value.

Other Options: Chris Paul ($7,600), Malcolm Brogdon ($6,100), Ricky Rubio ($5,600)
