DraftKings PGA: 2020 Honda Classic Picks

7,600 Russell Knox

Russ’s game is trending in the right direction. Over his last 12 rounds he ranks in the top-20 in the field in DK scoring, T2G, and approach. He also ranks highly versus the field in Bogeys Avoided and Scrambling Gained. His history at this event is up and down, with a T3 in 2015 and then missing 2 cuts in 4 tries since. I will bank on his recent form and play the Scot this week.

8,900 Daniel Berger

Bermuda Berger will be a popular play this week. The kid is playing solid golf to start the 2020 season and he is a Florida guy who plays his best golf in his back yard. My model loves him in that he ranks in the top-10 in strokes gained bogey avoidance, approach, and tee to green in the field. His putting splits favor Bermuda, as I already alluded to, so it will be fun to see what he can do with those approach numbers on a course that suits his roll. The price is high, but fair and I cannot envision an ownership fade play. Berger has a similar course history to Knox, with a 2nd in 2015 followed up with 2/4 missed cuts.

9,200 Billy Horschel

The Florida native played solid golf through the Cali swing, a place that he usually cannot tame. I think that means he is in form. Horshel is back in his familiar Bermuda grass, and this is a track that he knows extremely well. Billy Ho has 3 top-20 finishes at the Honda Classic since 2016, with a T4 in 2017. Last year, Hershel finished T16 at this event. Horshel is a streaky golfer and plays better in the comfort of the Southeast. I will ride with Billy Ho’s solid form.
